For those ready to take their practice a little further, our studio memberships at The Saltwater Creative Co offer flexible, affordable access to a working creative space. This is for makers who are comfortable working independently and want regular access to the studio, equipment, and community.
It’s your space to create, experiment, and evolve your practice at your own pace. From 7am - 9pm 7 days a week, rain, hail, or shine.
Is Membership Right for You?
Studio memberships are available to students who have completed either:
Our 4-week Wheel Throwing course, or
Our 4-week Hand Building course
Members should feel confident working independently with minimal guidance in a studio environment.
All membership applications are reviewed and approved by our studio team to ensure the space remains supportive and safe for everyone.
What’s Included
Your membership gives you:
Regular access to open studio hours
Full use of studio equipment and tools
Access to glazes, underglazes, and slips
Dedicated personal storage space for work in progress
A creative, shared studio environment
You’ll also have access to our community space - where ideas, conversations, and inspiration naturally happen.
The Studio Experience
Our studio is a working, creative space - not a formal classroom.
During open studio hours, a technician or facilitator may be present to help with setup, answer questions, and point you in the right direction. However, this is independent making time - learning comes through doing, exploring, and sharing with others in the space.
Many members find that the most valuable part of the studio is the community itself—learning from each other, sharing ideas, and being surrounded by work in progress.
We also provide a ceramic reference library and a constantly evolving studio environment for inspiration.
Our Services

Members have access to:
Clay and full studio tool range
Pottery wheels
Slab roller, extruder, and pug mill (induction required)
Batts, drying space, and work shelves
Kilns (firing service available)
Tea and coffee facilities
Bluetooth speaker for studio atmosphere
Shared creative space and community environment

Firings are charged at $8 per kilo
Kiln loading is managed by staff
Members are expected to understand basic glazing to ensure safe kiln use
House glazes are available and included in firing costs
Firing schedules generally run fortnightly, though this may vary during busy periods.

Daily
7:00am – 9:00pm
Availability may vary slightly depending on class schedules or term breaks, but members will always have consistent access across the week.
